Dr. John Braca

Neurosurgeon

John A Braca, III, MD joined the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery as the Chief of Neurosurgery for Central and North Central Pennsylvania in October 2023. Dr. Braca oversees clinical operations in the eight Neurological Institute locations that serve Annville, Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, Spring Grove, and Williamsport.

Dr. Braca received his medical degree from New York Medical College, Valhalla, N.Y. and completed his undergraduate training with a degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry at Fordham University, Bronx, NY. He completed his residency training in neurological surgery with Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois, and his post-residency CAST-accredited fellowship training in endovascular and cerebrovascular surgery with Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine, Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition, Dr. Braca completed and enfolded complex spine surgery intra-residency fellowship with Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois.

Dr. Braca is board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Braca specializes in treating patients with intracranial aneurysms, cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), carotid endarterectomy, carotid artery stenting, ischemic stroke intervention, endoscopic minimally invasive skull base surgery, pituitary tumors, brain tumors, spine tumors, degenerative spine disease, cervical myelopathy, motion preservation spine surgery and trigeminal neuralgia/facial pain syndromes. Prior to joining UPMC, Dr. Braca served as an endovascular neurosurgeon with Tower Health, Reading, PA, where he also held an academic position of assistant professor with the department of neurosurgery at Drexel College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Michael Venezia

Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

Dr. Venezia is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible orthopedic spine surgeon. As a native Floridian, he attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) and completed his Medical School training in Bradenton, FL at LECOM. Simultaneously, he completed a Masters in Public Health with Nova Southeastern. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency nearby at Largo Medical Center. He was elected by his faculty to serve as Chief Resident of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery during his final year of training.

Dr. Venezia went on to complete fellowship training in spinal surgery at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) with several world-renowned spine surgeons as his trainers and mentors. He has received extensive training in both Orthopedic and Neurosurgical spine surgery techniques during his residency and fellowship and continues to combine them in his degenerative, minimally invasive, and deformity practice.

Dr. George F. Bahri

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Bahri specializes in sports medicine injuries of the knee and shoulder with a special interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, Tommy John procedures, total shoulder replacements, total knee replacements, and general orthopedic care. 

Dr. Bahri graduated top of his class from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science. He then continued to medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in FT in Lauderdale, Florida. He completed his orthopedic training at Largo Medical Center-NSU COM. He then continued to train under world-renown sports medicine Orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Florida at the Andrews Research and Education Foundation/Andrews Institute.

Dr. Bahri has worked to provide medical care to many professional athletes with his mentor Dr. Andrews. Dr. Bahri was a team doctor for different sports teams.

Dr. Domenic Esposito

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Domenic Esposito is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with dual subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine and foot & ankle surgery. He specializes in knee, ankle, and foot surgery; athletic injuries; and arthroscopic surgery. He also practices general orthopedics including the surgical and non-surgical care of fractures throughout the lower and upper extremities.

Raised in Tallahassee, FL, Dr. Esposito obtained his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida. He subsequently received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. From there, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following residency training, he completed a one-year sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL under the direction of world-renowned sports medicine orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. To further expand his areas of subspecialty, he stayed on at the Andrews Institute for a half‐year foot and ankle fellowship.

Interventional Pain Specialist/Physiatrist

Patel’s credentials include Certified Physician Life Care Planner, Certified Life Care Planner as well as board certifications in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, Interventional Pain Management, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Fewer than one in 10,000 physicians nationwide are quintuple board certified.

Dr. Patel received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. He then went on to a surgery internship at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, New York, a residency at the NYU School of Medicine, and a fellowship in interventional pain management in Clearwater, Florida. Dr. Patel is a licensed Florida state medical care provider and a U.S. citizen. Dr. Patel performs both non-interventional and interventional spine pain management therapies and is a fellowship director of pain management fellowship where he trains other physicians to become interventional pain physicians. Dr. Patel serves as volunteer assistant professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the UCF College of Medicine.

Andrew D. Boltuch, DO

Orthopedic Surgeon

Andrew Boltuch, DO is an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery. He received his medical degree from NOVA Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Residency training at Largo Medical Center. Dr. Boltuch then completed his shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Holy Cross Orthopaedic Institute under the guidance of Jonathan Levy, MD. After his fellowship, he was accepted to the Alps Surgery Institute in Annecy, France, for an Advanced Arthroscopic Shoulder and Upper Extremity Fellowship with world-renowned surgeons Laurent and Thibault Lafosse, MD.

Dr. Boltuch is also highly involved in research, using his broad academic background to author multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals on the subjects of shoulder and hand surgery. He has presented this research at both national and international meetings and has received recognition for his work. Dr. Boltuch enjoys teaching and is an Associate Professor for the orthopedic residency program at Largo Medical Center. His involvement in education and academics is reflected by his evidence-based approach to treating orthopedic pathologies.

He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American Association of Ringside Physicians (AARP), and is a candidate member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA).

 

Ralph Rizk, MD

Ralph Rizk, DO is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who treats both adults and adolescent patients. He

He completed his Orthopedic training at Largo Medical Center-NSU COM in Largo, FL. He then went on to complete his fellowship training at the prestigious Drexel University College of Medicine/Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA. During his fellowship, he received extensive training in Robotic Hip and Knee replacement, along with various surgical approaches to the hip, including the Direct Anterior Approach. He was able to train under the pioneers of robotic surgery, and Direct Anterior Approach surgery, in the state of Pennsylvania. Dr. Anthony Esposito

Interventional Pain Specialist/ Physiatrist

Anthony Esposito, D.O. is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management. He specializes in the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of pain through a variety of non-surgical techniques including muscle, spine and joint injections, Radiofrequency Ablations, Epidural Steroid injection, Hyaluronic Acid Injections, Supervising Chiropractic and Physical Therapies, medication management, Traumatic Brain Injury diagnosis and treatment, life care plans, and EMCs. 

Dr. Anthony Esposito received his doctorate from Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 and then completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was elected by the department to be chief resident of the program. He then completed his fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of South Florida.

He is a member of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He currently holds a full Florida Osteopathic Medical License.
